Alden Skye 54 - GMT Carbon Rig

Thanks to the flexibility of our shop technicians, working offset shifts during these challenging times to abide by social distancing guidelines, we have been making great progress on a complete new GMT Carbon Rig for an Alden Skye 54. The owner has decided to replace both main and mizzen masts, along with upgrading to a carbon mizzen boom and GMT Carbon Pocket Boom for the main. The boat is not your typical Alden, shown above with the original aluminum rig. The owner is a seasoned sailor who has sailed many offshore miles with the boat, and in addition to the new rig, the talented team up at Lyman Morse will be adding a sugar scoop to the transom along with fitting a new carbon rudder. We can’t wait to go sailing this summer and hear first hand how the boat responds to the new rig and modifications!
